I was so honored to be a part of this wonderful rainy day wedding in Augusta, MO. I’ve been a family friend of Chelsea’s since well maybe before she was born. I can’t really remember. I really wanted to do this wedding right and I couldn’t be prouder of the memories we created. I’ve only known Travis for a year or two and I’m so happy Chelsea brought such a great guy into our lives. The thing you’ll notice about Chelsea and her family is how much they love to laugh. They had an outdoor wedding planned at the beautiful Mount Pleasant Winery and so much work went into the details. Unfortunately we got a ton of rain that day and everything had to be shifted indoors. You wouldn’t know if this turn of events dampened their spirits at all. We had a great time, wet and all. We got a few photos of the couple outside before the rain came down and after that we had to retreat to the wine cellar and I’m glad we did. What a great location. I had to work a little lighting magic but I think you’ll agree that it was worth the effort. Both the firework show and sparkler exit went on as planned as the rain died down during the reception. I had a blast shooting a few ring shots in the rain using only sparklers to light the scene. I love being creative with my camera! I feel like a kid playing with play-doh and finger paint. Congrats to the happy couple!
Immediately after the ceremony the happy couple snuck away for some marital smooching. The huge smiles came once they realized they had a camera on them :)
